Mariel grew up in Davao. Her parents separated when she was four, and her mother got married again to a Fil-Chinese businessman. Mariel’s mother founded an orphanage which she is now managing. Our Lola's Wake

Our lola Sergia Bachiller Cagang was one of the most wonderful and lovely grandmas ever. She was so nice, romantic and caring. More than that, you'll know more good things about her, but sad to say she's in heaven now together with my grandpa named "Policarpo". She was born on February 10, 1924 and blessed with six children namely Jun (deceased), Melo, Bert, Totoy, Dely and Nerly. She leaves in Kabacan, North Cotabato. Our uncle Totoy wanted to bring her to Las Vegas, USA but she preferred to stay home to take care of her two pets of cats and a lovely house. If given a chance I would prefer to go to US rather than to stay home and take good care of pets. hehehe. A month after the matrimony of my sister, my lola got sicked of pneumonia. She was rushed to the hospital. Besides, she had some water in her lungs. I hurriedly went to lola and visited her because I felt that someday she will be gone soon. In the afternoon, on that same day, as I was about to go home back in Davao City, she kissed and hugged me goodbye. As days went by, there were times that she can hardly breathe, talked and ate that much. She said to everyone that she's too tired and wanted to rest until one day on October 07, 2009 at around 7 in the evening, she rest in peace at the age of 85. We love and miss you lola.

King of Pop Michael Jackson is Dead

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Michael Jackson, the child star turned King of Pop who set the world dancing but whose musical genius was overshadowed by a bizarre lifestyle and sex scandals, died on Thursday, the Los Angeles Times said. He was 50.

"Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times," the newspaper reported on its website.

Jackson had been taken ill at his home and found not breathing by paramedics who rushed him to a hospital, it said.

The paper's report followed news of Jackson's death first reported by the TMZ entertainment website, which said that the singer suffered a cardiac arrest. The news of his death was not immediately confirmed by Jackson's family, or spokespeople for them.

According to Forbes, Pacquiao is the highest-ranking among four newcomers to the list, ranking in a total of $40 million in the past 12 months. The boxing star is among the eight non-Americans on the list, which had golf icon Tiger Woods ($110 million) at the top.

"Pac-Man hogged the boxing spotlight over the past year with victories in two blockbuster fights against Oscar De La Hoya in December and Ricky Hatton in May that combined for more than $100 million in pay-per-view revenue in the US," Forbes said in a brief write-up.

Plane debris found in path Air France jet took

BRASILIA, Brazil – An airplane seat, a life jacket, metallic debris and signs of fuel were found in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday by Brazilian military pilots searching for a missing Air France airliner.
The debris was spotted from the air about 410 miles (650 kilometers) north of the Brazilian island of Fernando de Noronha, roughly along the path that the jet was taking before it disappeared with 228 people on board, said Air Force spokesman Jorge Amaral.

Emptiness is freaking me out!

I woke up late this morning and of course again late for work. Work? Nahh! Do I have a work now to make? I guess so. Anyway, that is not me coz we are different in terms of name and personality. He is not my idol. Fanatically, I don't admire him. Eww, Let us talk about what I did this summer, Summer? I didn't notice nor experience this summer season that summer has existed. I haven't gone to the beach and surf to a big tidal waves. What I did this summer was wrecking my eyes to the internet. Boring life, I want to end it up by sky diving without a parachute. Social!? (Kris Aquino's term) huhh! How will I do it, nobody would like to support my emptiness. Do you think im pathetic of doing that such thing? are you nuts!? of course not and I will not. Why should I end my life with that 'lil problems in life. All problems have solutions. Dominant Pacquiao drops Hatton in 2nd

LAS VEGAS -- Manny Pacquiao was dominating. Ricky Hatton was left helpless.
Pacquiao cemented his claim to being the best pound-for-pound boxer Saturday night with a spectacular performance that ended with Hatton sprawled out on the canvas after a devastating left hand to the head late in the second round.
Coming off an overwhelming win over Oscar De La Hoya, Pacquiao was even better against Hatton, knocking him down two times in the first round before finally stopping him with a vicious left hand that dropped Hatton for good in the 140-pound title bout.
Referee Kenny Bayless took one look at Hatton and declared the fight over at 2:59 of the round.
"I didn't have to count," Bayless said.
Pacquiao needed less than half a round to figure out the onrushing Hatton, hitting him with a flurry of punches midway through the first round before putting him down for the first time with a right hook to the head. Hatton got up at the count of eight but Pacquiao landed another flurry and dropped him again just before the end of the round.
Hatton attempted to carry the fight to Pacquiao in the second round but was mostly ineffective as Pacquiao sized him up for a big punch. It finally came at the end of the round when he landed a left cross that flattened the English fighter.

I was there (not at the MGM) watching the fight of Pacquiao and Hatton on PPV for only 100 pesos Philippine currency, I witnessed the bout of their fight. People were cheering and screaming out loud for Pacquiao. Every punches thrown by Pacquiao had an equiavalent of screeching voices, raising both hands to the roof, yelling each other and sometimes throwing some inevitable punches to a friend nearby. (punches of joy) hehehe. The day of Pacquiao-Hatton fight gave a special moment of every Filipino to unite each other worldwide to support Manny for the money. (joke!!). Nevertheless, Manny is the best pound for pound boxer around the world and according to Bob Arum, Manny is the only greatest living boxer alive. Viva Manny! Share naman dyan! I'll see you soon.

I thought I will be defeated by Armeiro in a 1 min game. He has all the time and impulsive moves to take me away. As I replayed the game, my time kept on decreasing from 1 min to 00.6 millisec in 46 moves while Armeiro had still 10 sec to lose me on time. What I did was to secure my King away from his Rook to be checked or else I will be lost by time. Armeiro loses on time at 53 moves with my invincible 00.2 millisec. God save the King!

What is Paraffin?

In chemistry, paraffin is the common name for the alkane hydrocarbons with the general formula C_nH_2n+2. Paraffin wax refers to the solids with n=20–40.

The simplest paraffin molecule is that of methane, CH₄, a gas at room temperature. Heavier members of the series, such as that of octane C₈H₁₈, appear as liquids at room temperature. The solid forms of paraffin, called paraffin wax, are from the heaviest molecules from C₂₀H₄₂ to C₄₀H₈₂. Paraffin wax was identified by Carl Reichenbach in 1830.^[1]

Paraffin, or paraffin hydrocarbon, is also the technical name for an alkane in general, but in most cases it refers specifically to a linear, or normal alkane — whereas branched, or isoalkanes are also called isoparaffins. It is distinct from the fuel known in Ireland, Britain and South Africa as paraffin oil or just paraffin, which is called kerosene in most of the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.

The name is derived from the Latin parum (= barely) + affinis with the meaning here of "lacking affinity", or "lacking reactivity". This is because alkanes, being non-polar and lacking in functional groups, are very unreactive.

Paraffin wax (or simply "paraffin", but see alternative name for kerosene, above) is mostly found as a white, odorless, tasteless, waxy solid, with a typical melting point between about 47 °C to 64 °C ( 116.6°F to 147.2°F), and having a density of around 0.9 g/cm³.^[2] It is insoluble in water, but soluble in ether, benzene, and certain esters. Paraffin is unaffected by most common chemical reagents, but burns readily.

Pure paraffin wax is an excellent electrical insulator, with an electrical resistivity of between 10¹³ and 10¹⁷ ohm metre.^[3] This is better than nearly all other materials except some plastics (notably teflon). It is an effective neutron moderator and was used in James Chadwick's 1932 experiments to identify the neutron.^[4][5]

Paraffin wax (C₂₅H₅₂) is an excellent material to store heat, having a specific heat capacity of 2.14–2.9 J g^–1 K^–1 (joule per gram per kelvin) and a heat of fusion of 200–220 J g^–1.^[6] This property is exploited in modified drywall for home building material: it is infused in the drywall during manufacture so that, when installed, it melts during the day, absorbing heat, and solidifies again at night, releasing the heat.^[7] Paraffin wax phase change cooling coupled with retractable radiators was used to cool the electronics of the Lunar Rover.^[8] Wax expands considerably when it melts and this allows its use in thermostats for industrial, domestic and, particularly, automobile purposes.^[9][10]

In industrial applications, it is often useful to modify the crystal properties of the paraffin wax, typically by adding branching to the existing carbon backbone chain. The modification is usually done with additives, such as EVA copolymers, microcrystalline wax, or forms of polyethylene. The branched properties result in a modified paraffin with a higher viscosity, smaller crystalline structure, and modified functional properties. Pure paraffin wax is rarely used for carving original models for casting metal and other materials in the lost wax process, as it is relatively brittle at room temperature and presents the risks of chipping and breakage when worked. Soft and pliable waxes, like beeswax, may be preferred for such sculpture, but "investment casting waxes," often paraffin-based, are expressly formulated for the purpose.

Paraffin Wax is one of several acceptable candle waxes used in the Jewish menorah ritual.

Who is Sherry Fraser?

Sherry Fraser is a title of a song inspired by John Wozniak, a lead singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer of the band called Marcy Playground. I was a little bit confused who really Sherry Fraser is, I Google it and found that some would say that she was just like an ice cream, addictive drug, band member, etc. Only John a songwriter could explain who really Sherry Fraser is. lol! Anyway, I love to listen to this song. It reminds me of many things about life, experiences, and bittersweet memories because of the enchanting and pleasing melody.

Queenkong a novice chess player at chesscube.com. An 8 yr old girl born in the Philippines who leaves in the shadow of her brother Kingkong. She is not smart but full of courage of attacking her/his opponents thru her doubtful moves. She has records of 49 wins and 46 loses skills of white. Also, 73 wins and 74 loses skills of black. A total of 247 games as of to date.

Intel Closing Plant in Cavite

AFTER months of keeping under wraps the inevitable, Intel Corp. has finally announced it will close its Philippine plant—with its 1,800 employees expected to be formally notified within two weeks that they will lose their jobs. The plant in Cavite is expected to be fully shuttered by April, sources said.

When I worked as a sales/technical support, Intel processor from socket 478 to 775 was the most saleable processor ever. Sad to hear that Intel Corp. will be closed by April this year. I had chatted a filipina blogger before informed me that Intel Corp. in Cavite will be closed and it will be transferred somewhere in Malaysia. She buzzed me with her message if I am connected to Intel Corp. because of my blog name as "intel828c". Actually, intel82c was derived from my favorite Intel chipset and my birthday 828. Nahh! it's only my blog name get connected and not my profession. hehehe Then, she said to me that her husband is presently working at Intel Corp. in Sta. Clara, California as IT Specialist. Awesome job! Both of them with their family are living in Arizona, USA.

Philippines Vs Las Vegas

Febby is my cousin living in Las Vegas. Actually her daddy is here right now in the Philippines to visit our lola and relatives. Soon my uncle will bring with him our lola going back their to Vegas. I have not yet meet my uncle for now since I am much busy playing online chess with my cousin. hehehe. I defeated her twice because she was not quite serious at that time. Actually, she is the best player in Vegas and countlessly defeated the chess grand master in their school. Congrats Febby.

Checkmated!

Hi, I can't think what to say or what to do with my blog. I lost 5 times on this game. Actually, im not really good in playing chess but I defeated successively some of my opponents 3 times. Im glad to show to you that I won in last two seconds remaining and checkmated my opponent "Chuch45". Quite impressive but apprehensive. hehehe

Unbelievable Checkmate

Today is my day because I have won 6 times and defeated 2 times against with my 3 opponents in 8 different games. A total of 8 games all and all. Ashiqueash and I played a 5 minute bout. I thought I will be defeated on this game since I only have 3 officials left (a horse, queen and king) while my opponent have 4 officials left (2 rooks, queen and king). I said to my self that this game will be over against with my opponent "Ashiqueash". He was so tough and good in all aspects. The defensive and offensive moves was quite impressive. He had 2 minutes and 3 seconds left to finish the game while im terribly running out of time. Maybe, he was too confident to defeat me because I only have 3 seconds left but still manage to defeat him with my horse and queen in two more moves in 3 seconds left. The best move is the presence of mind. I defeated and won the game by checkmating him in 6 milliseconds time remaining.

Monkey (Unggoy) Won the Game

Unggoy and I played chess an hour ago. He defeated me several times. He was one of the best players I've ever encountered here in this game. Inspite of being annoying still he can manage to play well. hehehe. He can play with you while chatting at the same time. He annoyed me! lolz Congrats.

It's my iPOD's 3rd Birthday

I would like to share you about the gadgets I have for 3 years now, my Apple iPODs shuffle. I got these two iPODs for free when I worked as a sales/technical support. These iPODs were given to me by my supplier as promotional gifts. Won't you believe me? I got these for free because I sold laptops, desktops, licensed software and thumb drives to one of my regular clients. My iPODs now are still working with boombastic and impressive sounds. I gave the other iPOD to my luckiest and closest friend of mine.

Playing Online Chess

It was my first time to play chess online with my opponent named murdock1981. He was from Laguna, Philippines. He is my new friend in chesscube online gaming. The game was not quite good because It was a little bit confusing. Hahaha. Im not quite familiar with the color of the board likewise with the pieces. Anyway, better luck next time. To make it short. Im a loser baby!
